Application Permissions
Authorization tools are only as good as the person using them. Until now, no tool has made it possible to create ready-made authorization concepts with just a single click.

Do you also work in a complex system landscape where roles are decentralised? Then, inconsistencies can occur by transporting profiles from different systems to a target system. We'll show you how to prevent that. In the case of decentralised maintenance of eligibility roles, i.e. maintenance of roles in different systems or clients, there is a risk that the number sequences for the generation of eligibility profiles overlap. You can then generate profiles with the same name for different roles in different clients. As soon as you transport these eponymous permission profiles into a common target system, the profile will be overwritten by the newly imported profile and inconsistencies will arise. As a result, you may, for example, assign an ERP Permissions Role an SCM permission profile. This may result in a user assigned the ERP role not obtaining the required permissions or even too many permissions. You also have a problem if you want to use the permission profile to determine the source system and the client in which this profile was generated. This is not possible if the first and third characters of the SAP System ID (SID) and the number sequence for generating the permission profile match.
WHY ACCESS CONTROL
You can set up a nightly background job to match the certificates with your customer's own programme. This requires that the certificates can be obtained through an SAP programme.

If business partners are deposited to the user IDs, the standard evaluation paths lead to a dead end. Adjust it so that the indirect role mapping works anyway. In SAP CRM, you can set up an organisation management, as in SAP HCM. You can maintain organisational units and posts and assign business partners with their user IDs. In SAP CRM, however, there is the specificity that user IDs are not directly assigned to a job, but are usually indirectly assigned by the associated business partner. All persons and organisations involved in business processes are represented as business partners in SAP CRM.

The possibility of assigning authorizations during the go-live can be additionally secured by using "Shortcut for SAP systems".

So much information... how can you keep it so that you can find it again when you need it? Scribble Papers is a "note box" that makes this very easy.

You will receive a list of all matching roles in the SUPC transaction by selecting the Also-to-be-matched roles option, and you can now gradually update the roles.

You can do without taking obsolete profile data into account by adding the correction from SAP Note 1819126 and then setting the REC_OBSOLETE_AUTHS customising switch to NO in the table PRGN_CUST.
