Verification of source system status and infrastructure - analysis of software versions, database disk layout, system status, etc.
Solution Description
Packages that have not been explicitly assigned a special DDLORA file receive the DDL file specified via the "ddlFile=" parameter. The default is DDLORA.TPL.

Homogeneous system copy: In this type of copy, the operating system and database on the target system are the same as on the source system. So Windows remains Windows and Linux remains Linux. And if the SAPHana database is running on the source system, it will also be used on the target system.
Key solution steps
Data protection is a key issue in the preparation phase. As productive data often contains personal or business-critical information, suitable measures must be taken to anonymize or mask sensitive data. This is particularly important in companies with strict compliance requirements or in consideration of legal data protection regulations such as the GDPR. Choosing the right data masking tools plays a key role here, as there are solutions that automatically anonymize certain fields without compromising the consistency of the data.

The freeware Scribble Papers puts an end to the confusing paper chaos. The tool is also suitable for storing, structuring and quickly finding text documents and text snippets of all kinds in addition to notes.

SAP system copies are necessary, regardless of the basic infrastructure. Particularly in the context of automation, preference should be given to solutions that support all relevant types of SAP system operation.

To shorten the list of activities and to simplify the complete process of a system copy or a system refresh and to save manual activities, you can use "Shortcut for SAP Systems". Several manual activities can be omitted because with "Shortcut for SAP Systems" the system-specific data can be saved before the copy and imported again afterwards - also automated. This reduces the error-proneness that is inevitably caused by manual activities and enormously reduces the time span until the system is available again.

Especially in complex environments, SAP system copies regularly represent a critical challenge in terms of time and expertise and thus become a real cost factor in the long run.

Checking status and infrastructure of the target system - analysis of software versions, system status and target replication storage.
