Every SAP system evolves over many years. It grows and changes with the company. The more functions are mapped in it and the more data is stored, the greater the importance of and dependence on this central ERP system. There is no such thing as a standard SAP Basis solution. It is developed individually with reference to the company.
The definition, organisational structure as well as the naming of the SAP basis is historically conditioned by previous SAP software versions and components. This also results in the perception of the SAP basis and the related focus of the SAP NetWeaver and the ABAP system core, which is still widely used today. However, the scope of activities has changed significantly in terms of tasks and technology and will continue to change in view of SAP's perspective and product strategy and the changing roles of IT. In order to accommodate this change and to change perceptions both in the overall context of the SAP ecosystem and within its own company, the SAP basis must develop a new self-understanding and establish a marketing for the publication of its own performance. Definition of general system parameters
It is of great importance to keep the knowledge of SAP Basis experts in the company transparent. One possibility is of course to "look over the shoulder" or to ask the expert directly. However, this is very time-consuming and puts a strain on the expert himself.
SAP Basis, which means system administration and platform basis of SAP systems - quasi the operating level behind the SAP applications in the company. NEXUS / ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS is now focusing more strongly on this business area and is strengthening its service portfolio in the basic operation of SAP Basis services (Application Management Services / ongoing support) with optional extensions and project services of SAP Basis operation, for example, in the course of migrations.

In the authorization environment, in addition to assigning authorizations to SAP users, there are a number of important SAP Basis settings that you should check regularly to ensure that your SAP system is fully protected, both internally and externally.
