Authorization Analysis
To maintain suggestion values, use the transaction SU24. Here you can view and customise suggestion values for all types of applications, such as SAP GUI transactions, RFC building blocks, or Web Dynpro applications. One way to maintain suggestion values is to use the system trace, which is linked to the transaction SU24 after inserting the support package named in SAP Note 1631929 and the correction instructions. This means that from the transaction SU24 you start the system trace, collect trace data and use this data directly during maintenance.
Many tools that offer to simplify care operations of the transaction PFCG work Excel-based. The complete roll data is stored and processed in Excel. Then the Excel file is uploaded with a special programme and generates roles and role changes. While this all looks very comfortable (and probably is at first), it has its drawbacks in the long run.

Standard users such as SAP* or DDIC should also be implemented correctly in accordance with the authorization concept or SAP's recommendations. An important preparatory action here is to check whether the passwords have been changed for all standard users.
Once you have archived the change documents from the User and Permission Management, you can use a logical index for change document properties to significantly improve performance. First, however, you must ensure that SAP Notes 1648187 and 1704771 are installed in your systems. These notes provide the SUIM_CTRL_CHG_IDX report, which adds key characteristics for change document characteristics of the PFCG and IDENTITY object classes to the SUIM_CHG_IDX table when you have marked the Indices key change documents field. All change documents are indexed (this can lead to a very long run time when the report is first run). Later, the newly added change documents are indexed regularly (e.g. weekly or monthly). To do this, specify the target date in the selection of the report and schedule it as a regular job. Note that you can only create the index until the previous day - otherwise inconsistencies may occur.
If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.
The freeware Scribble Papers is a "note box" in which all kinds of data can be stored. It takes in typed texts as well as graphics and entire documents. The data is then organised in folders and pages.

The next step is to adjust the permissions in your productively used roles in the PFCG transaction, and then remove the corresponding permissions from the SAP_NEW profile using the SU02 transaction.
