Define security policy for users
Sometimes implementation consultants are also confronted with the situation that no authorization concept exists at all. This happens, for example, when changes in SAP SuccessFactors responsibilities occur on the customer side or different implementation partners were active in the past. However, a missing concept can lead to errors in the system. Users cannot perform certain actions, or worse, people see sensitive data that they should not see. This can, in the worst case, constitute a DSGVO violation and lead to a fine for the company.
You will need to adapt the template to your organisation's circumstances, i.e., probably define the certificate filing depending on the naming convention for your users and adjust the certificate verification. This verification of certificates ensures that no existing certificates are added in the template and that only one certificate is entered to an e-mail address. This check is necessary because sending an encrypted e-mail is cancelled if more than one valid certificate to an e-mail address is found. You can map mass imports of the certificates via this customer-specific programme. In addition, you will also need to define a way to manage certificates in your organisation, i.e. how to transfer changes to certificates to the SAP system.
General considerations
SAP authorizations are a security-critical and thus an immensely important topic in companies. They are used not only to control the access options of users in the SAP system, but also the external and internal security of company data depends directly on the authorizations set.
The convenience of configuring and evaluating the Security Audit Log has been improved. For this purpose, the maximum number of marked messages in the detail selection has been increased to 40 events, a forward navigation for the displayed objects has been added and the details selection in transaction SM20 has been supplemented with the technical event names. During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
The freeware Scribble Papers is a "note box" in which all kinds of data can be stored. It takes in typed texts as well as graphics and entire documents. The data is then organised in folders and pages.
Either you maintain a complete list of organisational values for each organisation (i.e. all entries in the USORG table), or you identify the required organisational levels from the selected reference roles (i.e. all entries for the selected reference role in the AGR_1252 table).
Since functional and organizational requirements are subject to change, SAP authorizations must be regularly checked and reworked.
