The plan went up: Salt Solutions provided Schmersal with an employee who, together with the IT team on site in Wuppertal, took over part of the tasks of AMS and support for SAP. The result was a significant relief for the Schmersal IT team in day-to-day business. The transition to the support team of Salt Solutions in Würzburg was launched parallel to the rollout in China.
Because the IT department quickly lost a noticeable amount of pressure thanks to Salt Solutions' extensive SAP expertise, support was quickly expanded. In June 2018, Salt also took over support for SAP BW in Wuppertal. Other sites added: in June 2018 the plant in Bergisch Gladbach, and at the end of 2018 the site in China.

Then there is much to do before January 2020! The magic word is SAP Support Backbone - the reliable link to SAP. Whether the hot wire to the SAP Support Portal (e.g. hints), the EarlyWatch Alert Reports or the Maintenance Planner everything is located in the Support Backbone Infrastructure. This has been updated by SAP and changes must be made to their system!
